Hi, my name is Juliette. After moving around New Zealand, and overseas over the last 15 years, in 2021 I came to the Hurunui district, and decided it was home. 

After being on my own healing journey and discovering how important it is to care for the mind, body and soul on all levels, I decided this was something I would love to learn and share. I started by turning to massage, as I've always been drawn to this.  It turned out this was not only something I seemed to be quite good at -I also LOVED it! At about the same time, I discovered my love of both giving and receiving Reiki, and trained to practitioner level in this also. I started by massaging at a retreat centre in Hanmer Springs for 10 months on the weekend, but quickly realised I really wanted to be caring for local people, so started my business working from home. Heart space Healing was bought into the world in January 2023. It has been such a priviledge to meet and care for so many local people, many of these becoming regulars, and friends. 

 

 Over time, I have started to combine massage with energy healing (Reiki), and feeling into what people need more. It is my (and many others) belief that areas of pain/tension result from unprocessed emotions/trauma. It is perfectly normal to not always have the capacity to deal with issues at the time they come up, but as they manifest as pain in the body, it's time to help move them on. I have had clients say they feel more relaxed than ever before after a massage, as well as others noting they might be also more emotional a few days after, which is a normal and healthy way to process anything that might have been released.

 

I am always learning and upskilling, and will be adding more to my offerings as I go, so please keep an eye on my page! I very much look forward to meeting, or reconnecting with you again soon.

About Reiki

 

Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. It is based on the idea that we all have an unseen “life force energy” that flows through our bodies.  A Reiki practitioner gently moves their hands just above or on the client’s clothed body, with the intention of reducing stress and promoting healing by encouraging a healthy flow of energy. Reiki is a form of complementary and alternative medicine; there’s evidence it can reduce daily stress and help with management of some chronic diseases. The word “Reiki” is a combination of two Japanese words: “rei,” which means “God’s wisdom,” or “the higher power,” and “ki,” which means “life force energy”. Put together, and “rei” and “ki” mean “spiritually guided life force energy”.

Reiki practice may help with a variety of physical and emotional problems, including insomnia, stress, depression, anxiety, and pain. The healing technique may reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and lessen pain through light (or no) touch.

 

A main benefit of Reiki (which leads to a lot of other benefits) is stress reduction.Reiki gives your body a break from the stresses of daily life, potentially helping relieve tension and return you to a state of relaxation. Once in this state, your body may be better able to heal any damage brought on by stress, injury, or disease. By helping a person experience deep relaxation, Reiki may enhance and accelerate our own natural healing process, because the body can stop being stressed and focus on healing itself.
